What are the vulnerabilities to pay attention to on a bike carbon frame for the inspection of small cracks? Road biking in particular.
When I design a CF framework there are areas specific check after the test: 1. At the headquarters of the tube expansion slot … where the seatpost goes in this area is almost always reinforced by an aluminum cap but tends to crack in any case, 2. Directly below the Top Tube at the seat tube, 3. Downtube steering tube, 4. Downtube in BB; 5. Chainstay booster, just behind the bottom bracket, 6. Steerer tube at the top and bottom. The best way to do the inspection is to spray the areas slightly water, clean it, then look for flaws with a magnifying glass in strong light.
