How strong are carbon mtb frames?
IM saving for a new bike for nest season. I was considering a specialized epic or 08 squat. possibly a Trek Fuel EX 9. if I wanted to go carbon, the number of strokes you can take these things? I have some carbon parts on my current epic (link shock, headset spacers) and have no consideration of the claims of the trails i ride. What are riding high and low carbon? i expect to use this Racing Bicycle and only buy a separate bike for everything else. ok, i dont think i will carbon this year. recommend any good framework? Im looking for the points above are welcome, and it's hard to argue with any of them. Carbon MTB race should be considered only. If a crack or puncture, assume it is garbage. Here is something to consider people outside the industry are not privvy to China, the country that possibly makes the best in CF-frames has a mandatory inspection of government in all CF frames in the future. This is making a serious problem for those of us that CF specifications such as providing dry quickly, and very few manufacturers frame (4, to be exact) are exempt from this test. Will lead to shortages and the much higher price, so if you're going to get a CF frame, do now. I think we see a significant reduction in CF frames for at least the next few years, while this is resolved.
